This was our first time in Auckland and just wanted to get to know the city a little better. The Sky Tower is a must see and will give you a great sense of where everything is. We enjoyed some cocktails and food at the restaurant late in the afternoon and watched the sun go down. I was quite surprised at the number of historical and cultural activities available and wish we could have spent more time. I lived in Auckland previously for about 10 years. So I know the city well. Traffic in this city is terrible, so you might want to avoid leaving your accommodation early in the morning or driving around from 3pm to 6pm on weekdays. Dining excellent and service impeccable at new Queens restaurant at 1 Queen Street. Location of accommodation excellent and walking to appointment within range, however to get anywhere else, using Uber is a great way to travel given the traffic woes and changes in traffic flow layout since last visiting Auckland.

Auckland has some great location on the harbour and the ferry service was very convenient. I would recommend a day trip to Davenport and to Hobbiton . There are many good restaurants Ahi Ebusi Origine Hello Beasty Oyster and Chop and Soul.

Veronica was a great host and, nothing was too much trouble. With access to Auckland CBD just a 15 minute bus ride away I think we would always stay here in preference to a city hotel / apartment. The property itself is still well-maintained and very comfortable, with close proximity to restaurants, fast food, gas stations, supermarkets etc. Newmarket and Parnell are a short drive or bus ride away, as is Mt Eden and the CBD for that matter!
